Luxury All Inclusive Tulum Mexico Resort

If you follow along with us, you’d know that our travel style tends to be luxury with 4-5 star hotel experiences. Our previous experience with an all-inclusive resort in Antigua has made us skip these types of properties ever since.  During our recent trip to Mexico, we decided to try it again and booked Dreams all inclusive Tulum property. Was our experience better than last time? Hands down, YES!

A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in.

Tulum is located roughly 75 miles south of Cancun. Dreams properties are located throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. The all-inclusive Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa is just minutes from the famed Tulum Ruins that are a popular activity in the area. Overall we found their website to be filled with great planning information and really true to the rooms, food, and experiences they offer.

THE ROOM AT DREAMS TULUM RESORT & SPA

We booked the Preferred Club Junior Suite Ocean Front.  The size of a room was smaller than we are used to for a suite but it was nice none-the-less. The king bed was the main part of the room with a small sitting area to the left. The Preferred Club was an additional option at this Tulum all-inclusive resort. It offered exclusive areas such as private Preferred Club lounge, pillow menu, upgraded toiletries, upgraded bar service and private beach loungers.

There was also a balcony that was quite narrow with 2 small chairs. The immediate view was of the pool but the ocean could be seen in the distance.

Finally, the bathroom was quite roomy with dual sinks, a nice shower, and bathtub area.  The air conditioning was quite strong and kept the room very comfortable. Overall a very pleasant stay at this all-inclusive Tulum property.

THE BEACH AT DREAMS TULUM RESORT

One of the key reasons for us to visit this area was to explore their gorgeous beach, therefore, we limited our search to hotels in Tulum, Mexico on the beach. Since we were in the Preferred  Club, there is a reserved stretch of beach that offered better loungers, cabanas and dedicated bar service at this Tulum accommodation.

One of our beach days was spent enjoying the cabanas, such a comfortable setting! There were also hammocks spread throughout to enjoy. The best parts of the Preferred area for us was that the crowds were smaller despite us being there in the July high season.

The quality of both the drinks and waitstaff in the preferred section was incredible! The drinks were well made, the liquor selection was abundant and the staff was extremely friendly. Certainly the type of service we expect at luxury hotels Tulum.

THE FOOD AT DREAMS TULUM MEXICO

Overall we were quite pleased with the food. Despite it being all inclusive, we thought the quality was high and the options were plenty. The breakfast buffet was abundant and a great way to start the day.

Due to the amount of food we ate during breakfast, we rarely took advantage of the lunch options however the main pool area had casual options to enjoy.  There were always a variety of burgers, hot dogs, pizza, nachos and other grilled items available around the pools.

There is no shortage of cuisine options as part of the all-inclusive Tulum resort. Some of the options included Mexican, French, Pan-Asian, Italian-Mediterranean, and sushi. The quality and variety make this the best all inclusive resort in Tulum!

There is also a variety of upgrade options for dining experiences. Within the Italian-Mediterranean restaurant, Portofino, there is a wine cellar. It offers a pre-fixe dinner option within the cellar. As a benefit to preferred members, dining within the cellar is free of charge. Don’t miss this experience!

We dined on Caprese, risotto, steak, and shrimp. The highlight of the meal was finishing with bananas foster dessert prepared tableside! It was our favorite dining experience at Dreams hotel Tulum!

As another upgraded option, we were able to dine beachside. One of our favorite romantic vacation activities is to enjoy beachside dining when possible. There is a platform set up on the property with private tables and direct views of the ocean. We enjoyed steak as part of this romantic dinner as well, so gorgeous!

The only tip is to bring bug spray. Since the platform has shades to divide the sections and provide privacy, the airflow does not really move and we experienced the most bugs here.

THE PROPERTY AT DREAMS TULUM

The grounds are extremely lush and well kept. There are 2 pools on the property, one a bit more kid-friendly while the other had more adults.

The main pool area hosts events throughout the day while the pool above had a more relaxed atmosphere. There are options for anyone at the all-inclusive Tulum Resort & Spa.

While we didn’t have time to enjoy the spa, there was one on site. We also saw people getting quick services on the beach, overall so many options to relax and unwind.

The main courtyard area frequently was set-up with events such as this street market that they brought right on the property.

As Preferred Club members, our favorite bar was the Preferred Club Lounge. The lounge not only offered cocktails but light bites throughout the day.

Overall we really enjoyed our 4-day stay at Dreams all inclusive Tulum Resort & Spa. It was a perfect way to unwind and use some of our vacation days this year. The quality of the service, food, and activities make all-inclusive properties an option for us again! We highly recommend Dreams Resort Tulum, Mexico for your next vacation.

What are your thoughts on all-inclusive properties? Do you prefer this type of resort or more of a standard hotel property?

  • This looks wonderful - and while I tend to enjoy sightseeing vacations, my husband would absolutely love this relaxing resort. Gonna have to remember this!

  • Ok, this looks more than wonderful. Just look at the color of this sand. I am not sure what happened in Antigua but I have had sour experiences on all-inclusive properties. However, several friends have had top notch experiences on them. Plus, you guys also enjoyed this time. I may give this type of accommodation a try in the future. Hopefully, it will be in such a beautiful place. #WeekendWanderlust

  • How gorgeous is that beach?!? We've been thinking about visiting Dreams Tulum, and I think you guys just made our minds up. We generally don't stay at all inclusive resorts because they often attract crowds that are there for the booze. Not our scene. But we did have a good experience in Cancun, and would definitely consider it again. We've think it's more about the resort, not the all-in aspect.
